No matter where you’re watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with your grandma, keep an eye out this year for a little slice of Wisconsin.
On Thursday, Kalahari Resorts — who have several locations nationwide, including their flagship in the Wisconsin Dells — makes its parade debut, which means it now has something in common with both Goku and The Elf on the Shelf. Billed as the “Splashing Safari Adventure,” the float features all the native African critters that you’ve seen at their Wisconsin Dells resorts, albeit in a somewhat extra fashion.
Seriously, this thing looks like the recently retired Miami Marlins home run sculpture.
Speaking with NBC15, the Dells location’s general manager, John Chasten, seems thrilled about the exposure.
“They came to us,” Chasten said. “We were real excited when we found out about the opportunity. It’s a tough parade to get into. You can’t just walk in and say ‘I want to be in the parade.’”
Anything that can make a grown man “real excited” about a parade is worth checking out, IMO.
You can catch the parade on Thursday, Nov. 22 at 9 a.m. on NBC, pending you aren’t terminally hungover from spending Wednesday night with every asshole you ever went to high school with.
