As the threat of COVID-19 continues to grow, Gov. Tony Evers has issued a sweeping “safer at home order” asking citizens, kindly, to stay the fuck inside.
The order will go into effect at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25 and stay in effect until April 24. (Or about a month or so after Donald Trump sends Americans back to work/their deaths.) In addition to recommending social isolation, the order also mandates the closing of all non-essential businesses. Currently, 16 other states and counting have similar orders in place.
The Safer at Home order I issued today, isn’t a joke. It’s a necessary precaution that will help protect the health and lives of many. #StayHome because it’s #SaferAtHome for you, your family, your neighbors, and our communities.

In addition to business closures, the order prohibits “public and private gatherings of any number of people that are not part of a single household or living unit.” It also closes all schools, salons and spas, and “places of public amusement.” What is a place of public amusement, you ask?
“… including but not limited to amusement parks, carnivals, water parks, licensed public or private swimming pools, splash pads, aquariums, zoos, museums, arcades, fairs, children’s play centers, playgrounds, funplexes, theme parks, bowling alleys, movie and other theaters, concert and music halls, country clubs, social clubs, and gym and fitness centers.”
Better cancel that family trip to the funplex! You can check out the full, 16-page order here or below.
